ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Aybek Arif Usmanov and Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Friday paved the way for strengthening economic and trade relations.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan Aybek Arif Usmanov met Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan to uplift economic relations between the two nations, a press release issued here said.
Emphasizing the long-standing friendly ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, Usmanov stressed the need to strengthen economic cooperation across various sectors through business-to-business and government-to-government agreements.
Usmanov highlighted the potential in sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, textiles and leather and stressed the importance of seizing these opportunities.
Echoing this sentiment, Minister Khan acknowledged the untapped potential between the two countries and emphasized the need for better connectivity and new trade routes to increase trade volume.
The two dignitaries promised close coordination to facilitate the business community from both sides.
This commitment is in line with their shared goal of fostering stronger economic ties and creating mutually beneficial opportunities for trade and investment.
