WASHINGTON: The United States on Wednesday acknowledged Pakistan’s continued efforts against terrorism while condemning the martyrdom of security personnel in recent terror attacks in Pakistan.
At a White House press conference, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller urged the Afghan Taliban not to use Afghan soil to launch terrorist attacks in Pakistan, adding that the US would continue to work with Pakistan to ensure regional security.
He further said that the people of Pakistan had sacrificed a lot in the war against terror and emphasized that eradication of terrorism was in the common interest of both the countries. He said that the US and Pakistan were cooperating on several fronts and added that the US would continue to support Pakistan in its economic endeavours,
It should be noted that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently released its World Economic Outlook report warning of persistent global food inflation.
The global lender has estimated Pakistan’s FY25 growth rate at 3.5% amid moderate global growth.
