UPPER DIR: The Upper Dir Police has successfully cracked down on criminals, drug dealers, and habitual offenders, recovering a large quantity of weapons and drugs, and arresting 79 drug dealers and other suspects.
According to a press release issued here on Friday , on the special instructions of DPO Upper Dir, Waqar Ahmed, the Upper Dir Police’s search and strike operations are ongoing in various areas of the district to maintain peace and tranquility. During the search and strike operations, the Jagram Police arrested the notorious criminal, Abdul Star son of Bacha Anwar, in accordance with the law. The Gundi Gar Police successfully cracked down on drug dealers and recovered 1 kg 243 grams of charras from the possession of drug dealers, Abidullah son of Raza Khan, and Fazal Akbar Khan son of Sher Bahadur, and arrested them in accordance with the law. Cases were registered against the suspects under the Prohibition of Narcotics Act. The Thall Police recovered 02 pistols, 04 chargers, and 29 cartridges during an operation against illegal weapons and ammunition, and registered cases against the suspects for keeping illegal weapons. In addition, the Upper Dir Police arrested 12 suspicious individuals at various checkpoints under the National Action Plan and took 59 suspects into custody for preventive action.”
