UPPER DIR : The Health Department Upper Dir has launched a 12-days “Big Catch Up” vaccination campaign starting October 1, to immunize children under 5 against 12 diseases. Health EPI workers teams were formed across the district Upper Dir. District health officer Dr Khalid, MS DHQ hospital Dir, Dr Imtiaz Ahmad , EPI District coordinator Dr ,,,,,, Dr Zahid Khan talking to media at DHQ hospital after inauguration, he said that the twelve days campaign was started from Monday October 1, till 12th of October,
He was appealed to the public and especially the parents to make their children better and healthier and to protect them from various diseases like measles, smallpox, meningitis, pneumonia, hepatitis and other twelve diseases. In this regard, hundreds of EPI teams has been formed and will go to houses, mosques and rooms in different areas where children under five will be given EPI vaccinations.
On this occasion, Dr Khalid and other Doctors appeal to all the parents and the public to cooperate with the health department teams to save the lives of their smiling children and to get the children vaccinated on time so that children like our flower do not die due to minor negligence. He added.
He said everyone avoid various diseases because it is the responsibility of all of us, including parents, to fulfill this obligation to get the children who have received some vaccinations or not at all, vaccinated from local hospitals, EPI centers as well as vaccination mobile teams. Get it done.
Dr. Zahid Khan, EPI Coordinator said that the campaign aims to immunize all children those who were under 5 years, including those who missed previous vaccinations. Parents are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to protect their children’s health.
