SWAT: The Students from the Institute of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Hospitality Management (ICHTHM) and Department of Education and Staff Training, University of Swat, participated in a one-day study trip to the Swat Museum and Buddhist Stupa site at Saidu Sharif, Swat.
Led by Dr. Aatif Iqbal (Lecturer, ICHTHM) and Dr. Alamzeb (Assistant Professor, Department of Education and Staff Training), the excursion aimed to enhance students’ understanding of Swat valley’s rich cultural and archaeological heritage.
At the Swat Museum, Curator Nawaz-ud-Din and Field Officer Muhammad Riaz welcomed the students and provided insightful briefings on the museum’s collections, including pre-historic, proto-historic, Buddhist art, and ethnological galleries.
Students engaged in an immersive art activity, supervised by visiting lecturer and artist Hasnain Jamal, creating artworks that showcased the region’s cultural heritage.
Students and faculty expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Hassan Sher for approving this academic activity.
