SWAT: World Mental Health Day was observed on Thursday, 10th October 2024 at the Main Campus, University of Swat.
The day was organized by the Department of Psychological Studies with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues locally, nationally and around the world, and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health. The students prepared charts and displayed placards highlighting the theme of the day.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher graced the occasion as Chief Guest and highlighted the importance of psychological wellness. Prof. Dr. Anwar Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, was also present on the occasion and expressed his views on the theme “Mental Health in the Workplace”. Dr. Abdullah, Assistant Professor, Dept of Social and Gender Studies explained how each of us can contribute to ensure that people dealing with problems concerning mental health can live better lives with dignity. Mr. Faheem (Coordinator) talked about the historical perspective of this day and the prevalence of mental disorders in youth. Ms. Palwasha Rahim (InCharge of Dept) thanked all the distinguished guests, faculty members and students of the Department of Psychological Studies who jointly made this event successful.
