University Model School Peshawar recently organized a sports day, showcasing the talents of its students in a vibrant display of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The event commenced at 9:30 am with the arrival of esteemed guests, including Syed Fakhar Jehan, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. Naeem Qazi, Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar, and Madam Sara Khan, Pakistan Archery Team Coach.
The program featured a welcome song, Quran recitation, Naat-e-Rasool, color party march, introduction of chief guests, annual sports report, physical training display by students, national song, prize distribution, and a speech by the chief guest.
Chief Guest’s Address
Syed Fakhar Jehan emphasized the importance of games and sports in our lives, praising University Model School for frequently organizing such events. He announced a PKR 50,000 prize for participating students and expressed his willingness to increase the prize amount next time. The minister also positively responded to the teaching faculty’s request for a gymnasium facility for the students.
Appreciation and Future Plans
Dr. Naeem Qazi, Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar, appreciated the school’s involvement in co-curricular activities and thanked Minister Fakhar Jehan for his generosity. The VC noted that a multipurpose gymnasium would not only benefit students but also generate revenue for the university.
