Britain’s opposition Labor Party will publish its election manifesto on Thursday, leader Keir Starmer told the BBC on Monday.
Labor is expected to win the July 4 national election, with Starmer’s party leading the ruling Conservative Party by around 20 points, according to polls.
The two sides clashed last week after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he would raise taxes by 2,000 pounds ($2,500) per family if Labor came to power. Labor rejected the figure outright.
Starmer said on Monday that Labour’s plan was “fully funded” and “fully funded”.
“It (our plan) does not call for a higher tax increase than previously proposed. So there will be no surprise if the manifesto is released on Thursday.”
