SWAT: At least 2 minor cousins werw died and one is in critical condition due to accidental consumption of poisonous medicine in Matiltan area of Kalam valley in Swat district last night.
According to SHO Police Station Kalam Zahid Shah, three year old Tejalla daughter of Akhtar Gul, three year old Radifa daughter of Umar Ali and three year old Shehnaz daughter of Rahmat Gul were playing in the home when they ate tamarind-like rats.
Due to which the condition of all three changed.
The affected children were shifted to Kalam Hospital for immediate medical assistance, but due to lack of facilities in the hospital, two girls, Tajalla and Radifa, died while Shahnaz was shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital in critical condition.
In this regard, when District Health Officer Swat Dr. Muhammad Saleem was contacted, he said that two of the three girls who were fed pesticides in Kalam Hospital in Matiltan were brought to the hospital in a dead condition, while the condition of one girl was critical.
After giving immediate medical aid to the victim girl, her condition improved and she was shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital.
He said that there is no truth in the news regarding the lack of facilities in the hospital.
