ANKARA: Member of Turkish Parliament Ali Sahin and Chairman of Turkey-Pak Parliament Friendship Committee said that international forces do not want stability in Pakistan and do not see its growth and prosperity.
“There are several conspiracies to weaken and divide Pakistan, which must be properly addressed,” Ali Sahin, the center leader of Turkey’s Justice and Development Party (AKP), told a select group in an interview. journalist and Shabana Ayaz, head of the Turkish Women’s Forum.
Ali Sahin received his higher education in Karachi and worked in various capacities in the Turkish mission in Pakistan and has fond memories of the country. Apart from focusing on various international issues in the interview, he also shared his personal experiences and fond memories of studying in Pakistan, where he discovered Pakistani cuisine.
Ali Sahin said that Pakistan is located in a geographically important place and it is important for the country to be economically stronger. Political and economic stability is essential for Pakistan to play a leading role in the region.
“We are doing everything to get rid of the current terrible situation,” he said when asked about the current dire situation in Palestine. Turkey and Pakistan are the twin sons of Islam and they can play an important role in the last leg of the reign of terror issued by the aggressor Israel, but now there is no such mechanism to solve this problem.
He then said that Islamic countries are poor and have limited resources, Western countries are following our problems and the problems are increasing. He said that the United States has come to solve the problem of Afghanistan and millions of people have been killed for almost 10 years, but the problem is still not solved, “Terrorism has not ended, but it has increased.”
They support further strengthening the relationship between the two Islamic brotherly countries, Turkey and Pakistan, by promoting trade, defense and cultural activities.
Ali Sahin regretted that economic and trade relations between Turkey and Pakistan were not strong enough. There is only $1.2 billion in bilateral trade between the two counties. The population of Pakistan is 25 million, the population of Turkey is eight and a half million, and trade must increase.
He said that the existing barriers between relationships should be removed. Over the past 10 years, our defense ties with Pakistan have grown significantly. Turkey has achieved remarkable success in the defense sector. A joint defense project between Turkey and Pakistan should be implemented.
To bring peace to the Middle East, the relationship between Turkey and Pakistan should be improved and strengthened. The mechanism between Turkey and Pakistan should be strengthened.
He said that Turkey is working on an important project to connect four neighboring countries, including Turkey, Iraq, Qatar and the Emirates, and eventually establish connectivity with the west to increase trade activities.
Pakistan, Iran and China have also said that they should be partners in this project as Pakistan is working on a major game changing project called CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) which will change the balance of trade around the world. He said that if the two projects were connected, they would revolutionize the whole world.
“I told Foreign Minister Hakkan Fidan that there is an urgent need to combine these two projects. It will also ensure economic, political and regional security stability.
Responding to the issue of dual citizenship, Ali Sahin said that Turks consider themselves Pakistani citizens and Pakistanis consider themselves Turkish citizens. The problem of dual citizenship is not Turkey, but the European Union. It may take time, but Pakistanis should consider themselves Turkish citizens.
Ali Sahin said that talks are being held with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Pakistan and Ambassador Dr. Yusuf Junaid on providing health insurance to overstayed visas and illegal citizens in Turkey. We are trying to solve problems and provide facilities. There are several obstacles in Turkey’s efforts to become part of Europe. Pakistani authorities and Turkish authorities are working to resolve the issue legally. It is expected that a meeting will be held next month at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where we will do our best to resolve this issue.
Ali Sahin said that diplomatic and parliamentary relations are not enough to develop relations between countries, but the exchange of cultural activities should bring people closer to each other. Turkey is thinking of making a drama about Mahmoud Ghaznavi.
Sharing her educational experience in Pakistan, Shabana Ayaza said that when I was studying in Pakistan, the people of Karachi welcomed me saying that you have come to your second country, but I said that it is not my second country. but this is my country.
Before I went to Pakistan in 1990, I had two options, one was Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. I chose Pakistan. Words are not enough to describe this love because Pakistanis love Turkey so much. I think the love for Pakistan is genetic in our generation. When a child is born in Turkey, his genetics includes a love for Pakistan. Likewise, children born in Pakistan have a natural love for Turkey, which is a gift from God.
I not only went to Pakistan to study, I have many friends there. After studying, when I visited a Pakistani family home, I understood the living conditions there. In Pakistan, if you speak Turkish, the door of the house is opened for you. Going to Pakistan was an interesting experience for me.
When I returned to Turkey after graduation in 1997, I wanted to know the current state of Pakistan. After shopping online, I listen to Pakistani news, watch TV and stay updated about the situation in Pakistan on social media platforms.
Ali Sahin, who lives in Gazi Antap, remembers that when I was studying in Karachi, I liked to eat Pakistani food, but 19 other students who were with me found it difficult to eat in Pakistan because of the smell. I like chicken biryani,” he said. I was Deputy Foreign Minister for three years, so I had to go to Europe for that. I don’t like eating in European restaurants, so I found a Pakistani restaurant and ate there. especially Biryani.
When he was studying in Pakistan, he said that he traveled from Karachi to Quetta, from Quetta to Zaidan, from there to Tehran and from Tehran to Ankara and then to Ghazi Antab in 7 days during my vacation. . I only took a month and spent 15 days just traveling. There are very few opportunities to spend time with parents and siblings. The harshness of hard times makes men the best men. Now if I get another chance, I will visit Sindh and try to understand their history and Punjabi, Buluch and Pahrun culture and tradition.
For the question of whether or not Shabana Ayaz would advise Turkish youth to go to Pakistan to study.
Ali Sahi’s answer to He can be studied all over the world like the United States, Saudi Arabia and European countries, but Pakistan’s love and affection for Turkey is nowhere, even though Pakistan is thousands of miles away, but when he lives in Gazi Antab, he loves the country . Ali Shahi’s message to Turkey is that if you want to know your worth, you should go to Pakistan once.
