Manchester: Donald Trump staged a final rally in New Hampshire on the eve of the Republican presidential primary, where polls show him leading Nikki Haley, the only remaining competitor.
Trump spent the initial part of the day in New York, where he was scheduled to appear in his sexual assault defamation trial as part of a strategy to embrace the storm that was swirling around him. However, due to one juror reporting illness, the trial was rescheduled until Wednesday.
The New Hampshire primary is viewed as Haley’s final, best shot to stop Trump.
Despite being impeached twice as president and currently facing four criminal charges, he has successfully imposed his hard-right brand on the entire Republican Party.
Several of Trump’s past primary opponents joined him for a small rally in the New Hampshire hamlet of Laconia, as the ex-president sought to project a united front against Haley in his final event before voting centers open.
“Tomorrow we’re going to win New Hampshire, then we’re going to defeat crooked Joe Biden, and we’re going to make America great again,” he shouted to shouts from a small but loud crowd as he brought Vivek Ramaswamy, Doug Burgum, and Tim Scott to the stage.
