Karachi: A vehicle full of sacrificial goats turned into a violent robbery near Kamran Chowrangi in Gulistan-e-Johar area of the city.
Sharing details of the incident, police said four suspected persons on a motorcycle approached a truck carrying at least 30 victims.
Two suspects pulled the driver out of the vehicle at a traffic stop before fleeing with the driver.
Abdul Manan, a trader who was the victim of the unfortunate robbery, revealed that the goats were brought from Hyderabad to Gulistan-e-Johar.
Further, the police said that after registering the trader’s First Information Report (FIR), an investigation into the incident has been started.
The incident happened a few days before the end of the Islamic year, a festival celebrated by Muslims when they sacrificed animals such as goats, cows, cows and camels.
As the annual festival approaches people bring sacrificial animals home, such robberies are frequent and this year is not the first time.
According to The News, there were two incidents in Lahore a few weeks ago where civilians lost their scapegoats to gunmen.
In Lahore’s Samanabad district, robbers stole two goats from a youth’s gun and ran away.
In another incident in Nishtar Colony in Lahore, a group of robbers grabbed a resident’s goat, but the police immediately arrested one of the attackers while the others managed to escape.
