KHYBER: Voters in the next general election in Tehsil Landi Kotal’s rural and bordering villages, Loy-Shelman, asked that the candidates address their issues before running for office.
People from various walks of life attended a conference called by the Qaumi Masail Committee (QMC) at Landi Kotal, which was held in Angaran Ground, Loy-Shelman, on the final day.
Speaking at the event, Hamza Shelmani stated that the downtrodden districts had been completely neglected in recent years and lacked all of the necessities possessed by the uptown areas. Other office bearers of the QMC, such as Kaleemullah and Illayas Shinwari, also expressed similar sentiments.
Because there aren’t enough medical facilities in this day and age, the residents bring their patients 25 kilometers to Headquarter Hospital, Landi Kotal, for treatment, which they feel is unjust. The roads are in poor shape.
They continued by saying that the unplanned power outages had made their life unpleasant and that the women had to go great distances to fetch buckets of drinkable water to suit their demands.

They regretted that previous MPs had ignored them and never devised a plan to deal with their issues.
They threatened to abstain from voting in the next election, which is set for February 8, 2024, until the provision of basic amenities.
District Khyber is represented in the Provincial Assembly by three seats (PK-69, PK-70, and PK-71) and the National Assembly by one member (NA-27).
