Former Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) and leader of the “Jahazwala Group,” Faisal Zaman, has emphasized the need to focus on the promotion of regional and traditional sports alongside national sports. He highlighted that bull racing, being a significant cultural and traditional sport of the region, deserves greater support. He assured his continued efforts to promote the sport.
Recently, a grand bull race event was organized in the Ghara Tarmin area of Tehsil Ghazi, where Faisal Zaman was the guest of honor. During the event, he distributed prizes among the owners of the winning bull pairs. Addressing thousands of spectators, Faisal Zaman stated that bull racing is not only the most popular sport in the area but also a favorite pastime for farmers. The sport, he added, provides entertainment to the community while serving as a source of livelihood for thousands.
He remarked, “Bull racing is a unique sport where cattle breeders, enthusiasts, and farmers actively participate with genuine passion and without any monetary motives. Thousands of attendees add vibrancy to these festivals, making them a spectacular celebration.”
Faisal Zaman urged the government to extend support to this culturally significant sport. “While millions are spent on promoting other sports, the government should also pay attention to this popular regional game. Incorporating bull racing into official tournaments would greatly encourage cattle breeders and enthusiasts,” he added.
He congratulated the organizing committee for successfully hosting the event and expressed his gratitude for their efforts. Prominent figures such as Chairman Kundi, Umar Khan, Nasr Iqbal Khan, and Akhtar Nawaz Lala were also present at the event. The festival was further enlivened by the engaging commentary of the renowned local announcer, Nazakat Bengali, who entertained the audience with his lively narration.
