LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the appointment of Australian Tim Nielsen as the new high performance coach of the red-ball team.
This strategic move is designed to improve the team’s preparation and performance ahead of the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
Nielsen joined Red-ball coach Jason Gillespie’s support staff. The pair are already working together to oversee Pakistan’s Shaheen training camp in preparation for the Test series.
The training camp for the Test series is scheduled to begin on August 11. Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, with the first Test to be held in Rawalpindi from August 21-25.
Recently, the PCB selection committee announced the squads of the national team and the Shaheens for the upcoming matches against Bangladesh and Bangladesh ‘A’ team.
The PCB selection committee announced the 17-member Pakistan squad for the ICC World Test Championship match against Bangladesh.
The selection committee also revealed the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the upcoming four-day matches against Bangladesh-A, with Saud Shakeel named as the captain.
The first four-day match starts on August 10, the second on August 17.
