Augusta: Tiger Woods saw his dream of a sixth Masters victory in sight after shooting a 10-under 82 in the third round of the Masters on Saturday – his worst score in 99 rounds at Augusta National.
A day after setting a record 24th straight Masters, the 48-year-old legend shot four of his last five holes, his worst Masters total, of 78 in the third and fourth rounds. 2022.
“I didn’t hit it very well or putt very well,” Woods said. “It wasn’t a good warm-up session and I continued all day today.
“I miss pots so much. Simple, easy-to-make idols. I miss them so much.”
Woods is coming back from injuries sustained in a 2021 car accident that led to right ankle surgery last April and a foot injury that sidelined him on Saturday.
But Woods, who said he was physically worn out after playing 23 holes on Friday because of Thursday’s storm, said he would not play 72 holes on Sunday.
“My team will prepare me,” he said. “The club is great. It’s going to be a long night and a long warm-up session, but we’re ready.”
“All day,” Woods said when asked if that day led to the crash.
After 36 holes on Friday, Woods announced his chances of winning a sixth green jacket, matching Jack Nicklaus’ record.
Forest, a five-time Masters champion, carded a 73-over par 72 to finish at 145 for 36 holes and birdied the fifth after a bogey on the par 3 when disaster struck.
Forest took his turn, with double-bogey, double-bogey, par on the front nine for par 42, the worst nine-hole score in the inside or outside half of the famous 7,555-yard layout.

The 15-time champion bogeyed the green on the par-3 sixth, then missed a five-foot putt and bogeyed it.
On the par-4 seventh, Woods two-putted and sent the third into the greenside bunker and missed the fairway 18 feet.
It’s the first double donation of the week, but it’s a sign of trouble to come.
Woods then made it to the par-5 eighth, the easiest hole of the week at Augusta National.
Woods pulled his tee into the trees to the left of the fairway, then blasted into the short grass. He needed two more from there to reach the green, then missed a 26-foot putt and a four-footer for par.
“I just didn’t compete and didn’t play much,” he said. “When I got to 5, when I had a chance to turn it back, I immediately flushed three sixes and sevens, but I won on the wrong side and still had a chance to turn it back.”
Woods found the greenside bunker on the ninth, putt to nine feet, but missed another par to end a terrific ninth.
Woods missed the green with a six-foot par, missed the par-3 12th, responded with an eight-foot birdie at the par-5 13th, only to reach 14 for the third round in a row, missed the green with his approach and then missed a 15-footer. some.
It was a rough start for Woods, who again missed the green with a 15-foot putt on the par-3 15th, then added a three-footer and six-foot putt on the par-3 16th. missed at 17 for his fourth straight goal before the shutout.
