Sindh Department of Information Technology and experts have declared Thar sand as the best for making computer chips.
According to experts, the digital world can meet the demand of a large market by producing a layer of chips from thar sand. The Department of Information Technology has submitted plans for a silicon chip wafer factory to the federal and provincial governments.
Experts also say that coal, sand, water, and electricity are needed to make wafer chips, and Thar sand is the best for that.
The CPEC project could cover the estimated cost of $450 million from the wafer chip foundry concept. There is also 150 acres of land for a wafer chip factory planned in Islamkot’s Tharparkar district.
