SWAT: At least Ten-tourists, belonging to Lahore, came for visit and recreation in Kalam Valley, were trapped by a falling glacier at Pulogah area in Swat district. After the video went viral on social media, the administration swung into action and organized a mission to evacuate them safely.
According to the details, three days ago, Ten friends from Lahore came to Kalam valley for a visit. During this time, they had gone towards Mahodand Lake, but on their return, they were surrounded by a heavy snowfall and they got stuck at Palogah due to the fall of the glacier.
“The locals gave them shelter in their hotels and rooms and extended hospitality to them.”
When the video of tourists being trapped went viral on social media, the administration took action and the machinery was dispatched.
DSP Madayan Circle Akbar Hayat Khan said that under the supervision of the police, the road was cleaned and the glacier was removed by machinery and the tourists were taken out safely in their vehicles.
“The tourists raised slogans of KP Police Zindabad and praised the hospitality of the local people and the police”.
