LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday cited the historic and record low inflation as a positive indicator for the country and stressed that the government is committed to work hard until the economic recovery.
In a press conference held at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Secretariat in the federal city, the federal minister said, “The rate of inflation this month is higher than expected, as reported by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Bloomberg, Asian Development Bank. , UNDP, World Bank and Other international agencies have also supported Pakistan’s economic growth.
Attaullah Tarar highlighted the tireless efforts of the government to focus on the economy from day one, producing some positive results. He expressed hope for Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s historic visit to China with a delegation of about 100 businessmen. Tarar is looking forward to successful B2B meetings, business conferences and signing agreements, which he believes will further strengthen the country’s stability.
Asked about the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Tarar praised the historic speed with which Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif worked on CPEC projects during his tenure and highlighted the laudable role of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. to complete It ensured that the project was completed at a fast pace.
However, he criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government, citing anger from friendly countries and isolating Pakistan, including the suspension of work on the CPEC project. Noting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed confidence in him and that other friendly countries have confidence in him, Tarar said he expects significant results from Shehbaz Sharif’s four-day visit to China, saying the allocation of $10 billion in direct investment from UAE.
“Pakistan now has a serious government and because of its steps to support the country and its people, it saved the country from default, stabilized the currency, increased IT exports which increased the confidence of the business community. Budget and ministers who work without salary are doing well to create an environment which is beneficial for entrepreneurs”- he said.
To a question, he said that PTI was really a collection of contrarians who rejected his tweets and there was no individual or top political party of the country. “If someone doesn’t like the situation, they can go to another country,” he said.
