SWAT: The Special Anti-Terrorism Court ( ATC) at Gulkada in Swat district has handed over 9 more accused in the Madyan incident to the police on 6-day physical remand. Officials confirmed.
” Earlier, the court had handed over the 21 accused on 10-day physical remand and now the accused will be produced again in the court on July 3.”
After the blasphemy incident that took place at Madyan area of Swat district on June 20, The Police have charged 2,500 people including 49 named accused for killing the alleged blasphemy suspect Sulaiman and Anti-Terrorism Act( 7ATA) a case was registered and in the first phase, 21 accused were arrested and their 10-day physical remand was obtained.” said police officials.
Police produced on Thursday 9 more accused including three main accused Yasir, Ghafran and Qari Inamur Rehman in the anti-terrorism court and requested 15 days physical remand. However, the Judge Shaukat Ahmad Khan of the Anti-Terrorism Court handed over the accused on physical remand for only 6 days.
“All the 30 suspects who have been arrested so far in the Madyan incident will now be produced again in the anti-terrorism court on July 3,” police officials said.
SP Investigation Swat Badshah Hazrat, the head of the JIT formed for the Madyan incident, said that action is being taken to arrest all the accused involved in the incident and the help of videos is being sought in this regard.
