ISLAMABAD: In the Arshad Sharif murder case, the Practice Procedure Committee has constituted a five-member bench for suo motu hearing.
Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail will lead a five-judge bench that also includes Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha Malik, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Athar Minallah.
According to sources, the decision to constitute a five-judge bench headed by Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail was taken by a vote of 2 to 1. Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa recommended retaining a three-judge bench, while Justices Mansoor Ali Shah and Muneeb Akhtar favored the formation of a five-judge bench under Justice Mandokhail.
Sources said the decision to constitute a larger bench under Justice Mandokhail was based on the majority opinion of the committee. The newly constituted bench will hear the Arshad Sharif murder case based on the availability of judges.
