Malaysia: Pakistan and Japan drew 1-1 on Tuesday in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia. Ken Nagayoshi converted a penalty corner in the 33rd minute to give Japan the lead in the third quarter.
By the end of the fourth and final quarter, Pakistan looked set for defeat when they failed to equalize. However, Rana Waheed Ashraf helped Pakistan level the game after a penalty corner was also taken in the last minute of the game.
Earlier, Pakistan defeated Korea 4-0 in the second match of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Pakistan beat Malaysia on Saturday with a last-minute goal by Abu Mahmud. The nine-goal thriller featured the best goal as the Green Shirts ran out 5-4 winners after 60 minutes.
Pakistan’s next match is against Canada on May 8 at the same venue.
