According to sources, candidates for the project include former Australian captain Steve Smith, New Zealand Test captain Tim Southee and former England captain Joe Root.
Australia: Steve Smith, Josh Hazlewood, Josh England, Sean Abbott, Daniel Sams
England: Joe Root, Adil Rashid, Ben Dukett, Alex Hales, Chris Jordan, Sam Billings
New Zealand: Tim Southee, Finn Allen, Colin Munro, Kyle Jameson, Adam Milne, Ish Sodi
West Indies: Jason Holder
The PCB has confirmed that the event window for the PSL 2025 event will be from April 7 to May 20 due to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be held in the upcoming event window.
PCB is also thinking of innovative changes to increase the excitement of PSL matches from the next edition.
One idea among the proposals discussed is to submit two separate team sheets to each team competing in the Tos.
After the draw, teams will select one from the list to be considered as the final playing XI.
In addition, another proposal discussed is the use of Power Surge, similar to the Australian Premier League (BBL).
On the other hand, Lahore and Rawalpindi will host more matches than Karachi.
According to local media, Karachi has been given five matches in the schedule of PSL 2025. Meanwhile, Lahore will have a maximum of 10 matches and Rawalpindi will have eight matches.
Due to poor attendance last season, Karachi has been given less games compared to this year.
The PSL 2025 playoffs will be held at a neutral venue, most likely England.
