ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan on Thursday said that he entered politics for the sake of the country.
In a speech on the rule of law convention in Islamabad, Khan praised Quaid-e-Azam and said, “In an effort to create this country, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah chose a career in law.”
“It was Quaid-e-Azam’s power of the pen that paved the way for the existence of Pakistan,” Khan said.
He said, “Those who believe in a higher power cannot bow to the United States.”
– The opposition is not treated fairly –
A few days ago, PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Sunday that the opposition is not being treated fairly.
Expressing his thoughts, Gohar said, “We have reservations about not telecasting Omar Ayub’s speech live. We recorded our protest in front of the speaker.”
“It will be difficult to remain united if the same attitude is directed at the opposition,” he added.
Separately, Ayub called for an impartial inquiry into the events of May 9 and also demanded the release of PTI political detainees.
Addressing the post-PM polls of the National Assembly, Ayub stressed the need for justice and said the PTI leadership was unjustly detained as political prisoners.
He also called for adequate facilities to be extended to Bushra Bibi.
