The Police Lines Abbottabad, in collaboration with the Glaze Forest Division, organized a spring plantation campaign aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and combating climate change. Officers and staff from both departments participated enthusiastically in the initiative, reaffirming their commitment to a greener future.
The campaign was formally inaugurated by Taimur Ilyas, Divisional Forest Officer, Glaze Forest Division, and Umar Tufail, District Police Officer, Abbottabad, who planted a pine sapling to symbolize their dedication to environmental conservation.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Guest highlighted the crucial role that trees and forests play in maintaining ecological balance. He stressed that afforestation initiatives are essential in mitigating climate change, preventing soil erosion, and ensuring a healthier environment for future generations.
The event served as a call to action for citizens to contribute to afforestation efforts and take responsibility for preserving Pakistan’s natural resources. Officials emphasized that community involvement is key to the success of such initiatives and encouraged residents to actively participate in similar environmental campaigns.
