Islamabad: Prime Minister Youth Program Chairman Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan said that a sports academy would be established to promote various sports in the country.
Serena Hotels in association with Sports Journalists Association Rawalpindi-Islamabad hosted a reception to honor sports journalists on World Sports Journalists Day as part of Serena Hotels sports diplomacy initiative.
At an event in connection with the World Sports Journalists’ Day, he said that the youth talent hunt program was supported. He believes that Pakistani athletes will do well for the country in next year’s SAF Games hosted by Pakistan.
Rana Mashud said the government will also come up with a mega plan that includes initiatives for youth empowerment.
The chairman of PMYP said that sports is an industry in a civilized society and plays an effective role in managing our country’s economy, and said that the PMYP institution has made every effort to reform and develop sports on a high and scientific basis.
Rana said that when the current government was formed, many challenges were faced, the first of which was to save the country from default. He said that the PML N government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has steered the country in the right direction and the one share growth represents the best economic policy of the government.
World Sports Journalists Day, which is celebrated around the world every year on July 2, aims to recognize the contribution of sports journalists, especially their role in promoting sports culture and broadcasting sports events around the world.
Prominent print and electronic media journalists from the twin cities were invited for the cake cutting ceremony after the exclusive meeting.
