During recent weeks, smog has remained an important issue of the country especially Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. The smog disrupted the air traffic, resulted in closure of motorways led to shutting of education institutions and limiting the business activities.
The smog also increased issues and number of patients affected of smog related issues increased in the hospitals. The Punjab government remained in the grip of criticism due to surge in smog related diseases. The rival political parties continued to condemn the ruling provincial government over the health problems.
However, the provincial government continued facilitating the citizens in health sector. Besides announcing several steps, it directed the authorities for providing best health facilities to the citizens.
As a part of same strategy to improve the health sector, the Board in the 45th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of Planning and Development has approved the funds exceeding four billion rupees for two health sector development schemes.
For the Chief Minister Punjab’s “Clinic on Wheels” program, funds of Rs 2.32 billion were approved while Rs 1.84 billion scheme approved for the revamping of Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital.
