SWAT: At least 21 children were sustained injured after a private school building collapsed in Tangar area of Matta Tehsil of Swat district.
The children of the class nursery were studying when suddenly the roof of the old and rotten wooden building collapsed. Officials confirmed.
According to the police, the two-storied mud building of “New Standard Public School” collapsed at that time, when the children were studying in the class nursery, suddenly the roof collapsed.
“There were 21 children out of 28 children in the class and the ages of the injured children are said to be between 5 and 6 years,”
The local people and rescue personnel of the incident carried out rescue operations. While an injured child has been transferred to Paradu Teaching Hospital in a critical condition.
Assistant Commissioner Matta Abdul Qayyum reached the site after the incident and has sealed the school and ordered an inquiry.
