RAWALPINDI: Former interior minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that he is not related to the founder or leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.
Speaking to reporters outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi, he said that only Shibli Faraz (Development Organization) and PTI could negotiate.
As for the post of Deputy Prime Minister, he said that there is no such provision in the constitution of Pakistan. He said “only the Jati Umra constitution offers the position of Minister”.
He said that Pakistan will face an economic crisis in the next two months.
He said that procurement of grain has yet to start and the financial condition of the people is dire.
The former federal minister reiterated that innocent people with no connection to crime should be released from prison.
He asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to look into the wheat scandal.
He urged the government not to rethink its policies as the next two months are crucial for Pakistan’s politics.
