PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz will reportedly not be able to vote for their own party candidates in Lahore’s NA-128 constituency.
According to party sources, the votes of the PML-N leaders are registered in NA-128, but they have entered into a seat adjustment deal with the Istehkam-e-Pakistan party (IPP) in the constituency.
They further added that in NA-128, the PML-N decided to support IPP leader Aun Chaudhry, whose electoral symbol is ‘eagle’, and did not field a candidate of its own for the National Assembly seat.
On the other hand, in the PP-161 constituency of NA-128, the three PML-N leaders will be able to support their candidate, Umar Sohail.
It should be mentioned that Nawaz Sharif is contesting the elections for two National Assembly constituencies: NA-130 Lahore and NA-15 Mansehra. Shehbaz Sharif is contesting for NA-123 and NA-132 and Hamza Shahbaz NA-118.
All the arrangements for polling have been completed by the Election Commission of Pakistan. In all four provinces, almost 90,675 polling stations have been established.
