SWAT: Peshawar High Court Mingora Bench (Darul Qaza) Bar Association on Saturday elected Shamsul Hadi as its president and Shah Faisal as its general secretary. ANP supports Mr. Shamsul Hadi while Mr. Shah Faisal is a member of the Pakistan People’s Party. Polling started at 8:30 and continued until 3:00 pm at Darul Kaza premises in Fizagat, Swat district. A panel of three attorneys presents candidates to attorneys. A total of 860 lawyers voted. According to the results, Mr. Shamsul Hadi won 511 votes to defeat independent candidate Saeed Khan who won 349 votes each. Sardar Zulfikar, supported by JUi, was elected as the vice president of the Bar by winning 466 votes. PML-N’s Sardar Hussain, who came second, got 394 votes. Shah Faisal PPP won 445 votes to become secretary general. He was followed by Syed Abdul Haq of JI who won 404 votes. Nadeem Khan from Swat, Amin Khan from Buner, Hazrat Munir Kamal from Lower Directorate, Suliman Khan from Upper Directorate, Syed Ahmed from Upper Chitral, Iqran Hussain from Lower Chitral, Haya Khan from Bajur and Mohsin Niaz from Malakand Reserve have been elected as members. from the Bar Executive Committee there.
