LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Shah Khawar as interim chairman on Wednesday, following Zaka Ashraf’s resignation.
He will oversee the PCB’s affairs until a permanent chairman is elected.
Khawar visited the PCB offices shortly after taking over, when he was greeted by Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, directors, and other employees. The officials will brief him on “important” subjects.
It is understood that he would also oversee the PCB elections. Mohsin Naqvi, the caretaker chief minister, will run for chairman in the upcoming elections, which are expected to take place within a month.
Naqvi will serve on the board of governors until the election.
