Pakistan batsman Shadab Khan has praised former pacer Umar Gul after he apologized for his injury during the ICC World Cup 2023.
Shadab was replaced with concussion in the match against South Africa after being hit in the head on the field.
It should be noted that Gul said that Shadab used the concussion technique to save himself.
“We don’t know how he was injured, but when you fall, say you have a concussion, run away from the team and leave, there are questions. Physio checks you and after a while you are discharged. You talk to people there and then you leave. If the game becomes tougher and you realize that it will benefit us, you will be happy to sit there.
However, Gul insisted that he apologized to Shadab for his remarks after the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
“I immediately went to [Shadab] after the PSL because the actual incident was two concussions in one year and the third time was during the World Cup. The doctor advised him to rest to avoid serious consequences.” Rose told a local cricket website.
Shadab recently won PSL season nine for Islamabad United.
