RAWALAKOT: The Rawalakot police reportedly seized at least seven wards of the district jail to prevent them from performing their duties on Sunday.
A preliminary investigation by authorities found 19 inmates, including 10 on death row, life imprisonment and probation guilty of helping to escape from prison on Sunday.
According to further information received by APP AJK correspondent late on Sunday, at least 19 inmates escaped from the Rawalakot District Jail after allegedly defrauding jail officials.
According to prison officials, the escaped inmates include dangerous criminals. According to reports, top jail authorities are busy tracking the escapees and restoring order in the area.
Authorities have released a list of escaped prisoners and said a heavy police contingent has been deployed in the area.
According to the authorities, the search is underway for the escaped prisoner. Further investigation is ongoing.
