Dhudial: “Pakistan can play an effective role internationally for the freedom of Kashmir only by achieving national political unity, economic prosperity, and excellent diplomacy.”
These views were expressed by Senator Lieutenant General (Retd.) Abdul Qayyum, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), during a seminar on solidarity with Kashmiris organized by the Kashmir Journalist Forum at the Islamabad Press Club. The event was attended by former Vice President of Kashmir, Sardar Yaqoob, Mishal Malik, the guest of honor Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, as well as Hurriyat leaders. In addition, many journalists from Kashmir participated under the leadership of the President of the Kashmiri Journalists’ Organization, Irfan Sadozai, and Afzal Butt.
General Abdul Qayyum emphasized that apart from debates on Kashmir within the country, it is crucial to highlight the human rights violations occurring in occupied Kashmir with strong and consistent coverage in the international media. He further stated that India is not only active on our eastern border but is also shamelessly involved in terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan from the western border. In this regard, it is essential to maintain diplomatic engagement with Afghanistan.
