The passing of constitution bill of the registration of religious seminaries has become so prolonged due to which the tension is creating amongst the wifaq-ul-madaris Pakistan and the coalition government. Against which Molana Fazal-ur-Rehman led JUI and other heads of the seminaries are protesting. They are demanding that the president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari must sign the controversial bill which is already approved by the national assembly.
According to the news reports the president has stop that bill because some controversial points, the president has said that after the 18 amendment in the constitution, it’s a provincial matter and on other hand the president objected the bill that by passing that there is a possibility of international sanctions on the country.
The president raise eight objections on the seminaries registration bill-the presidency narrates that in presence of the education board ordinance 2021 and Islamabad Territory trust bill 2020 there no need of new legislation. The president also said that by registration of seminaries there could be contradiction in society and the international institutions could also change their ratings, along with that after the registration of seminaries the writ of the law could be weaken as well.
On other hand some of the rumors broke out that, some scholar are also not agreed with the bill. Although Mufi Muhammad Taqi Usmani, the president Of wifaq ul madaris and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has rejected all these rumors. Molana Fazal-ur-Rehman said that his only complaint is with the President House, occupied by Asif Ali Zardari, and have no objection by religious scholars when it comes to the matter of registering seminaries.
He stressed that there is no disagreement with scholars, and his party’s only complaint is with the president.
He questioned why Zardari raised objections to a bill approved by the government. Speaking to the media in Dera Ismail Khan, Molana Fazal Rehman stated that there is currently a debate in politics regarding the registration of seminaries.
“The government prepared the bill to register religious seminaries, and JUI-F demanded its approval during the 26th Constitutional Amendment, before the elections during the government of Shehbaz Sharif. After that, the bill was passed unanimously in both houses.”
He asked why the signing of the bill was stopped after the constitutional amendment, and why there was a need for President Asif Ali Zardari to make changes to a draft that was prepared with the participation of both the PPP and PML-N. He also questioned if state institutions were not involved in this entire process.
Addressing the scholars, he said there is no issue with any specific seminary, organization, or scholars. “JUI-F’s complaint is solely with the President House.”
The party chief also wondered why the signing of the bill was stopped if the constitutional amendment had been signed.
He asserted that JUI-F had made no mistakes, and the responsibility lies solely with the President House.
Accordingly, due to the clash of JUI, and religious scholars with presidency there should be possibly another political chaos in country. So the president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and the prime minster should also thing about the whole scenario that the country is not ready to observe another anarchy because the PTI, government episode have already harmed the environment of the society.
If the presidency and the religious scholars have differences over the religious seminaries registration bill-then they should negotiate these points and draft another bill that could fulfill the requirements of the Government and the religious scholars.
Now this is the responsibility of both side to maintain tolerance, because of the political instability the socioeconomic conditions are effecting the whole society and due to the regular strikes and protests, the life of common citizens is at risk-on one hand their businesses effecting and another hand they have no life insurance that any shell or bullet should target innocent citizens. So both side will have to solve this issue with tolerance and respect, any harsh policy of government would make the environment more complicated.
