ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has released draft revisions to the Listed Companies (Code of Corporate Governance) Regulations, 2019 for public comment in an effort to encourage respect and safety in the workplace.
According to a news release released here on Friday, the proposed changes mandate that the boards of directors of listed businesses establish strong anti-harassment policies that are compliant with the Workplace Act, 2010 and pertinent provincial legislation, which protect women from harassment in the workplace.
By defending the rights and welfare of every worker, these rules will promote a more diverse and equal workplace.
The amendments require a number of crucial actions to guarantee the successful implementation of anti-harassment policies as mandated by the Workplace Act, 2010, including the creation of a code of conduct, the establishment of an inquiry committee, the designation of a competent authority, and the public display of the code of conduct to ensure accessibility and clear communication for all employees.
This program is a big step in creating a business environment in Pakistan that is more morally and equally distributed.
Strong anti-harassment rules incorporated into the Code of Corporate Governance show the SECP’s dedication to promoting inclusive, safe workplaces for all and establish a high standard for ethical business conduct.
On the SECP website, at https://www.secp.gov.pk/document/notification-changes-to-the-listed-companies-code-of-corporate-governance-regulations-2019/?wpdmdl=50448, the proposed amendments are available for public comments and feedback.
