According to Indian media, the incident took place in the Peddapalli district of Telangana, where Nagal Jyoti, a resident of Kunal village, married a man named Devender five years ago.
Jyoti claims she is Devender’s second wife and discovered after their marriage that he was already married. When she learned he was planning a third marriage, she staged a protest outside his house.
Jyoti alleges that her husband deceived her by hiding his first marriage and is now preparing for a third wedding. Accompanied by relatives and locals, she confronted him at his home.
She further stated that her in-laws harassed her for dowry and subjected her to physical abuse. Determined to prevent another woman from being wronged, Jyoti took a stand.
The police arrived at the scene after receiving reports of the protest and attempted to resolve the matter.
