PESHAWAR: Due to low gas pressure, individuals are adopting other fuel sources, which has resulted in increased environmental contamination, according to President Fuad Ishaq of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
He called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s acting chief minister, Justice (R) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, the governor, Haji Ghulam Ali, the province chief secretary, and the district administration to get in touch with the center immediately in order to address these problems permanently.Fuad Ishaq informed him during a meeting in Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Peshawar Sania Safi’s office that the SCCI had effectively brought up the problem of gas with the federal government, key ministries, and high-ranking officials due to unfair practices being carried out with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a press statement released here on Sunday, many members of the business community, traders’ leaders, and presidents of municipal bazaars attended the gathering.According to the head of the SCCI, people in Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are forced to employ traditional methods as a substitute source of fuel in order to meet their daily needs. According to Fuad, there is concern over the rise of respiratory illnesses and the use of traditional methods such as the use of coal, wood, and other resources, which are increasing environmental pollution.
In addition, he claimed that if the gas problem was resolved, people’s tensions would dissipate, businesses and industries would carry on, and people would have access to jobs in the province. According to Fuad Ishaq, the country’s Constitution, namely Article 158, guarantees the province’s first claim to natural gas and other resources. The SCCI added that Punjab had received subsidies while KP was included in the RLNG’s basket.Fuad said, “While the fertilizer sector was provided gas at low cost in Punjab, there were 3900 MMBTU of gas for commercial consumers and 2700 MMBTU of gas for industrial consumers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
