LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has slammed the management for handling Shaheen Shah Afridi’s alleged altercation with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf ahead of the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup.
In a recent interview with a local sports channel, Butt expressed his disapproval of the management’s actions.
“But if you gave him a full opportunity through all these problems and now you’re complaining, I think anyone can do that. What’s the point of appointing [big names] with fat salaries? he asked.
“The job of management is not to complain, but to act,” he concluded.
According to recent reports, Shaheen got into a heated argument with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during the team’s tour ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.
Sources claim that the incident occurred during Pakistan’s net practice at Headingley when Shaheen had a verbal altercation with Yousuf, who pointed out that Shaheen kept refusing in the nets.
The sidewalk reportedly became enraged and told Yousuf to let him practice without interference.
After the incident, Shaheen apologized to the batting coach and was reprimanded by the team management for his misconduct.
