ISLAMABAD: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain on Tuesday urged the nation to come together in unity and put aside differences to guide the country’s development and ensure a better future for the next generation.
Addressing the Paigham-e-Hajj conference, he highlighted the division of the nation on sectarian and provincial lines and urged people to put aside hatred and respect differences of opinion to achieve the goal of peace and progress.
Salik shared his experience overseeing Operation Hajj and acknowledged initial problems. However, due to dedication and commitment to positive intentions, he eventually achieved success, he added.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, especially Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, and other stakeholders for their cooperation in the successful Hajj operation. Organized by the Pakistan Ulema Council, the conference was attended by dignitaries including the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, representatives of private Hajj and Ulema organizations.
