ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee on Wednesday gained 05 paise against the US dollar in interbank trade to close at Rs 277.63 against the previous day’s Rs 277.68. However, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buy and sell rates of the dollar in the open market were Rs 278.50 and Rs 280 respectively. The euro fell by Rs 1.32 to close at Rs 307.31 against the previous day’s Rs 308.63, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The Japanese yen was unchanged to close at Rs 1.92, while the British pound, which was trading at Rs 368.96, was down by Rs 1.43 from the previous day’s close at Rs 370.39. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal fell by 02 paisa 04 paisa to close at Rs 75.58 and Rs 73.97 respectively.
