ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee gained 05 paise against the US dollar in interbank trade on Friday to close at Rs 277.63 against the previous day’s close of Rs 277.68. However, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market were Rs 278.80 and Rs 280.30 respectively. The euro rose 17 paise to close at Rs 309.19 from Rs 309.02 the previous day, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The Japanese yen rose by 02 paise to close at Rs 1.93, while a gain of 92 paise was witnessed by the British pound, which traded at Rs 371.24 compared to the previous day’s close of Rs 370.32. The Emirati Dirham and Saudi Riyal exchange rates declined by 02 paisa and 01 paisa to close at Rs 75.58 and Rs 74.01 respectively.
