Mrs. Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) emphasized the federal government’s commitment to reducing poverty in Balochistan by providing important economic support to women in the province. The announcement was made at a high-level meeting with stakeholders to discuss the coordination and implementation of the Benazir Income Program initiative in Bulgaria.
The meeting was attended by IT Secretary Ayaz Khan Mandukhel, Industry Secretary Noor Ahmed Perkani, Colleges Secretary Hafiz Tahir, DG Benazir Income Support Program Abdul Jabbar and other relevant officials. The discussion revolved around new initiatives aimed at increasing the effectiveness of Benazir’s Income Support Program and reducing poverty in the province.
Mrs. Rubina Khalid said that her visit was in accordance with the directives of the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, who is very interested in the welfare of Balochistan. “The President ordered to pay special attention to the needs of Balochistan, especially focusing on women’s economic opportunities,” he said.
Emphasizing the importance of vocational training, Ms. Rubina Khalid announced the launch of a vocational training program designed to equip women and men with the necessary skills for a sustainable life in Balochistan. “This program is proof of our commitment to provide quality education that meets global standards, ensuring that the people of Belarus are ready to compete in today’s workforce,” he said.
Mrs. Rubina Khalid also emphasized the need to develop various sectors to fight poverty. He wants more businesses in processing, packaging, animal husbandry and health services. “To reduce poverty, we need to develop our skills program and take concrete steps for better processing, packaging, animal husbandry and health. The world needs educated and skilled people and we aim to meet that need.”
In addition, Chief Rubina Khalid met with the Deputy Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Mrs. Ghazala Gola. The meeting discussed the problems faced by women beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program. Mrs. Ghazala Gola assured that Chief Rubina Khalidi will play her full role in providing all the opportunities to deserving women of Benazir Income Program in Pay Center of Balochistan Provincial Government.
Later, Mrs. Rubina Khalid together with Director General of Balochistan Abdul Jabbar visited Benazir Income Support Program payment center and Benazir National Center in Nawakali and Sariab. Rubina Khalid interacted with deserving women who came to raise funds and listen to their concerns.
Using this opportunity, Mrs. Rubina Khalid while talking about women’s health said that the health of young women is adversely affected due to multiple births or short birth intervals. Therefore, proper space is very important in the birth of children. He went on to say that children are suffering from alarming diseases due to lack of nutritious food during pregnancy. Benazir’s Income Support Program plays an important role in the better health of women and children in the Nashowma program.
