RAWALPINDI: A factory that manufactures counterfeit cigarettes was raided and sealed in Rawalpindi’s Jhangi Syedan neighborhood on the orders of Member (IR-Operations) Mir Badshah Khan Wazir and under the supervision of the Chief Commissioner of the Regional Tax Office Rawalpindi. Assistant Director Shujaat Khan and his group conducted the raid under the direction of Additional Commissioner Headquarters Riaz Khan. After seizing millions of rupees’ worth of counterfeit cigarettes and machinery, the RTO Team closed the plant.
The aforementioned factory was covertly constructed in a building’s basement, producing and distributing fake cigarettes of various brands throughout Pakistan.
