The primary objective of this article is to rise awareness and disseminate information to the newspaper reading community empowering them to share knowledge regarding right to information.
Basically, Right To Information (RTI) Act, 2013, is a significant piece of Legislation aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in public institutions.
RTI is the fundamental right of every citizen according to constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan under article 19(A) but unfortunately Pakistani citizens are unaware about this right. After attending the 3-Days Training of Youth Leadership Program on Civic Education and Right To Service conducted by Center for Governance and Public Accountability (CGPA) I am finally now able to access to information. It was great knowledgeable and full of information training after which now the participants of the training are able to give awareness about the Civic Education, Right To Information, Right To Service, and Constitution to community, institutions and in their job sectors as well.
I want to disseminate this knowledge and aware the people about this right and give suggestion to the Public Schools to conduct the training of at least one or two days on fundamental rights specially RTI for the teachers and the students who are CNIC holder so that could get the information they want to search for. As now a days people are focusing on Gender Based Violation (GBV) Training and Child Protection (CP) Training, and Mental Health Psycho Social Support (MHPSS) Training so RTI and RTS Training need to be mandatory as well. In every educational institutions, private sectors and government sectors all are need to add this concept in their learning policies so that every student and employee have knowledge about their rights and the constitution our country following.
If educations institutions and job sectors (private and public) compile a file and create a manual of the projects going on in their firms and publish it on their own websites or keep it in record/documentation so that if anyone wants to get information he/she can easily have access to the information.
The RTI Act aims to foster a culture of transparency and accountability in public affairs, ensuring that citizens have improved access to information and can participate more effectively in public matters.
