According to sources, the notorious bandit was allegedly killed by another dangerous bandit, Umar Lund, under a planned strategy orchestrated by the Punjab Police.
Umar Lund was reportedly persuaded by a senior police officer stationed in Alipur to kill Shahid Lund. In exchange, the police promised to drop the cases against Umar Lund and provide complete protection to his family.
After killing Shahid Lund, Umar Lund and his brother reached the Rojhan police station. Umar Lund has more than a dozen cases registered against him in Rojhan and Rahim Yar Khan. After the murder of Shahid Lund, heavy police forces were stationed outside Umar Lund’s house.
Umar Lund organized an event to carry out the murder, where 8 to 10 bandits from Sindh also participated. During the event, Umar opened fire, killing Shahid Lund on the spot.
Umar later stated that after killing Shahid Lund, he had intended to kill other members of the gang from Sindh as well. However, during the firing, the rifle jammed, and when he attempted to use a rocket launcher, the first shot misfired, and when he tried again, the launcher pin got stuck. After the incident, he crossed the small river and reached Rajanpur, where he surrendered.
It is worth noting that the police from Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur jointly claimed to have killed the highly wanted bandit and leader of the Lund gang, Shahid Lund, in an operation.
