RAWALPINDI: On the direction of the Divisional Intelligence Committee, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has launched an operation against illegal housing schemes in Taxila.
According to the RDA spokesperson, the Task Force has accelerated its work against illegal housing schemes.
During the operation, the RDA enforcement team took action against eight illegal housing schemes including Aroura Housing Scheme, Al-Khan Enclave, Land Department, Wah Residency, Fahad Builders (Educational Campus/Wah Hills), Al-Madina Land. Divisional Office, Education Campus/Wah Hills/Kashmir Town and Khawas Town.
The scheme is located in Mouzas Lab Thatho, Niko, Bhoti Pind, Buddu, Gari Afghana and Bajar, Tehsil Taxila of Rawalpindi District.
The enforcement team sealed and dismantled plots and plots of illegal housing schemes, the spokesperson said.
The operation was conducted on the orders of Rawalpindi Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Abdul Aamir Khatak, RDA Director General, RDA Additional Director General, Deputy Commissioner, Rawalpindi and Rawalpindi City Police Officers.
The spokesperson informed that despite warnings against illegal advertisements, land reservations and stoppage of construction work, the owner of the housing scheme continues to violate the rules and continue booking activities.
Director General of RDA said that under the leadership of the Commissioner, the crackdown on illegal housing communities will continue to prevent fraud and protect citizens from exploitation.
He said that RDA has advised citizens not to invest in illegal housing schemes and to visit RDA website www.rda.gop.pk to check the status of all legal and illegal housing societies.
The operation was attended by RDA Assistant Director / Management Executive Team Muhammad Usman Bajwa, RDA Assistant Director Planning Mehwish Naseem, RDA Scheme / Building Inspector and other team members.
