“The District Sports Department, in collaboration with the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation, is organizing the Rawalpindi Sports Festival 2024, which will take place from May 31 to June 12. The festival will feature hockey, football, kung fu, gymnastics, MMA (International Event), taekwondo, badminton, and a demonstration of pentathlon. The opening ceremony will be held on May 31 at 8 pm at the Shahnaz Sheikh Hockey Stadium, Said pur Road, Rawalpindi. The ceremony will begin with a hockey match, gymnastics, and a pentathlon demonstration. The chief guests at the ceremony will be Engineer Amer Khattak, Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division, and Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi. Other guests will include Ali Imran, CO (MC) Rawalpindi Division, Wahid Ahmed, District Sports Officer, Shams Tahir Abbasi, General Secretary of Rawalpindi Hockey Association, Raja Yasin, international and national players, and a large number of civil society representatives are expected to participate.”
