Dalmatian pelican, one of China’s first-class freshwater birds, is found in Urad Grassland in northern China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, according to the Administration of Forestry and Grazing.
A total of 16 pelicans were found in Hongki Reservoir, a national reserve, according to the Forest and Range Administration of Urad Back Banner. .
Dalmatian Pelican lives mainly in the coastal areas of southeastern Europe, northern Africa, and eastern Asia, as well as inland lakes, rivers, and swamps.
The increase in the number of these species in the reserve reflects the ecological improvement of the grassland and the increasing awareness of wildlife conservation among herders, said administrative director Su Jun.
